Pit Remedy Activated Carbon is a carbon product developed for use in municipal waste treatment facilities to reduce odor and suspend solids. It is an open cell carbon with six times the surface area (absorption) of normal carbon. Activated Carbon is used in maintenance situations to enhance the natural biomass by reducing the inhibitors and toxins in the effluent, i.e., disinfectants, chemicals, etc. We have experienced excellent results with Activated Carbon where maintenance and odor reduction are of primary concern in deep pits, lagoons and basins.
