Fox Ridge is a 2,600-head sow unit. Buildings are pull plug with plugs at each end of the pits. Pits drain to an 8,000,000-gallon lagoon.

The middle of the pull plug pits had 9" of thick sludge build-up that would not drain or flow. This area was increasing monthly and stopping the flow of liquid from one end to the other.

In mid-July, Pit Remedy was applied to the pits where the sludge was thickest. Another application was made in mid-August. By September the bacteria had liquefied all the sludge and the pits could be completely drained from either end. Increased anaerobic activity was also seen in the lagoon, where the bacteria continued to work after it had been pumped.
