Testimonials E & S Pork Smithland, IA - Ed Burkhart, Officer/Operator
Four pull plug, 1,000 head units with tunnel ventilation. Each pit has pull plugs at both ends. Slurry is drained into a 1.8 million-gallon cement basin. Pre-Pit Remedy Environment Manure solids had built up to the point that one-third to one-half of the length of the pits were plugged. Draining could only occur at one end of the buildings. Solid manure measured 9- to 12- inches. Pit-Remedy Environment During late fall monthly Pit Remedy applications were started. In some cases Pit Remedy was injected and worked into the thickest solids. By May the pits were liquefied and could be drained from either end of the buildings. In Conclusion "Results were as good or better than claimed. The ALD/Pit Remedy representative went out of his way to help and was not afraid to dig in and help work in the barns. He checked back often. I was impressed by his knowledge and he had data and results to back up his claims. Overall, ALD/Pit Remedy and their representative far exceeded my expectations."
