Testimonials Dinklage Pork Wisner, NE - Bill Buckendahl, Manager
Dinklage Pork is a 20+ year-old facility consisting of 20 barns and two large lagoons. The operation is farrow-to-finish and supports 800 sows. It has predominately four-foot deep pits, pumped via lift stations into the lagoons. Pre-Pit Remedy Environment The largest building, a finishing unit with four sloping pits going from five feet to seven feet deep, had over four feet of solids in the back areas of the pits. Solid manure would not flow from back to front where it could be pumped. Pit-Remedy Environment Pit Remedy was applied in March 1999. After six weeks the pits were pumped. The initial application liquefied and broke loose almost two feet of solid manure that was pumped. Another application was made in May, which liquefied the remaining solids enabling them to pump out completely. In Conclusion Dinklage Pork Manager, Bill Buckendahl is very pleased with the summer clean-up results and has expanded clean-up to their other buildings using Pit Remedy. In addition, Bill feels that the Pit Remedy used for cleanup in the buildings has continued to work after pumping in the lagoons. Dinklage Pork was able to pump more manure from their lagoon to cornfields this summer (1999) than ever before. |
